Steps involved in becoming a GLA fighter pilot…

Pre-screening: List planet of origin, date of birth (Galactic Standard Calendar), height and weight (cannot exceed 1.76 meters or 82 kilograms), record and submit biosignature (thumb print, retina, DNA). Must present GLA ID card via U-Link or physical copy.

Records check: Candidate will be disqualified if they have ever before been convicted of a felony, have been diagnosed with severe mental or physical illness or issue, or have body augmentations that are incompatible with standard Alliance equipment or would otherwise prevent them from performing their duty.

Regular screening: Minimum reaction time .5 seconds, minimum lift 28 kilograms. 120 general knowledge test, must score 75% or higher. G-tolerance test, loss of consciousness results in immediate failure.

Training begins with swearing the oath:

Call: Will you fight the enemies of the Alliance?

Response: With valor, I will fight.

Call: Will you lay down your life if it is asked of you?

Response: With honor I will do my duty, even to my dying breath.

Call: It is of your own free will and desire that you swear this oath?

Response: Yes, it is.

Call: You are now a member of the Galactic Liberty Alliance Starforce. Your term of service will be one year, or until you decide to resign thereafter.

Response: With my brothers and sisters I will dispense justice in its name.

Alliance Armed Forces Universal Training:

1 month duration.

1 week classes, theory, first aid, etc.

3 weeks practical training/drills. Procedure, firearms training, pressure suit usage, squad tactics, obstacle course, etc.

Specialized Training: Fighter Pilot

4 years naval academy

Classes throughout, various lengths.

Courses cover physics, military history, fighter maintenance and operation, astronavigation, advanced mathematics, war games.

Practical training in flight simulators at least 2 hours per day after year 1.

Pre-year 4 entrance, 5 vs 5 combat sim. Winning team advances, losing team subject to review.

Provisional flight status granted on graduation. 1st assignment includes actual flight. Permanent flight status granted at the time of graduates flight instructor or C.O.’s discretion.

Standard rank upon granting of permanent status: 2nd lieutenant.

Further promotion based on merit and awarded at all future C.O.’s discretion.
